A high school student died on Tuesday in an accident at his internship location in Saint-Lô (Manche). SNES-FSU, first union of colleges and high schools, “Request that second internships no longer take place”said Friday June 20 on France Inter Its secretary general, Sophie Venetitay.

“It is not up to me today to determine legal or political responsibilities. What I know as a union representative is that the place of our students, it is first in schools to learn to grow together, and certainly not to be exposed to various dangers in a world of work which we know is particularly difficult”, she insists.
Thursday, the CGT of National Education also denounced these internships. The union requests “Review the obligations related to these internship periods” and even militates for “The abolition of internships in business from the 3rd and the sequences of observation in second which are not of interest”, he said in a press release.
