Sébastien Lecornu in favor of thawing pensions: “Good news”
“It’s good news, fortunately we have regained our senses”reacts Christophe Robert, general director of the Foundation for Housing the Disadvantaged, while Sébastien Lecornu said on Friday he was “in favor” of abandoning the freeze on retirement pensions and social minimums in 2026.
“Everyone has to make an effort,” recognizes Christophe Robert, but we cannot ask, he says, “for people who survive on 650 euros per month (RSA amount for a single person), to lose another 100 euros per year”.
Budget cuts: “We are heading towards regressions”
Even if the general delegate of the Foundation for Housing the Disadvantaged is delighted to “a debate on the right effort” of everyone, he worries “that we are heading towards regressions”citing in particular the cuts planned in the envelope dedicated to the energy check, of 150 euros per year for “people who are often in thermal sieves”, insists Christophe Robert.
“We need to give breathing space to social landlords”also believes Christophe Robert, denouncing the 1.3 billion euros “cuts since 2018” via the solidarity rent reduction system. “We built 125,000 social housing units in 2018, today it’s 85,000”he laments, but “we are at an unprecedented level of demand for social housing”.
