the “at the same time” of the RN which does not choose between liberalism and statism

Jordan Bardella wants to be close to the bosses, Marine Le Pen wants to lower taxes. But, in the Assembly, they vote for the tax on holding companies, that on multinationals and on unproductive wealth. Is the RN’s economic program right-wing or left-wing?

While the special law must be voted on Tuesday December 23, 2025 in Parliament to compensate for the lack of budget, how did the RN, which is leading in the polls for the presidential election, manage the sequence? It is a messy copy to say the least that emerges from these weeks of debate in Parliament for the party with the flame. A few days ago, Jordan Bardella was confronted by business leaders who criticized him for far-right votes.

How can we claim to be liberal and close to the bosses by eliminating pension reform and voting for 34 billion tax increases in 24 hours? Because that’s the bill at the end of the day: tax on multinationals, on holding companies, on share buybacks. Some people did not see a pro-business and pro-growth policy, nor the positive fiscal shock promised by the possible RN presidential candidate.

For individuals, it’s the same, the RN claims to want to lower taxes, but it voted to introduce a tax on unproductive wealth of which it does not know how much it could bring in and which would possibly be more expensive to recover than the return it could offer. This tax would tax works of art and yachts, the transactions of which would now take place elsewhere or under a foreign flag, and therefore easily circumvented. Finally, a tax on unproductive wealth which would affect funds in euros, that is to say bonds which are French debt securities, and could undermine the very financing of our economy.

Another inconsistency, the Zucman tax is being debated again and which the RN let pass during the last budget and which it opposed this year.

Politically too, the RN is both capable of voting with the Socialist Party and the MoDem to tax the most fortunate. He voted for the tax on multinationals on the proposal of La France insoumise. He finally added his voice to the LR and the Macronists, making his economic positioning difficult to understand.

A form of “and at the same time” where we find Marine Le Pen’s strategy of seducing the working class when Jordan Bardella flirts with business leaders. So is the RN liberal? No. Socialist? Not really, but certainly opportunistic with electoral aims!
