Take advantage until the last moment. In the calm of the early morning, Friday, August 1, the atmosphere is ideal for a sophrology class in a campsite in Fréjus (Var). The holidays are soon over for a tourist. In two days, it’s departure. “We will prepare the suitcases and take the road”she confirms. A father, he preferred to anticipate. The suitcases are already ready. “We prefer to prepare our luggage today to leave tomorrow”he explains.

For a bunch of friends, return to Brittany this morning, the stay is already over. “Next time, we’ll take longer, I think. We took advantage of in any case, we have returned our trip well”confides one of them, who still keeps a smile on his lips. With the departure is looming the nightmare of traffic and traffic jams. “It will be very complicated. But afterwards, as I am not a driver, I will rather sleep. I’m going to let him go away”mocks another, pointing his friend. It’s time to say goodbye to camping employees. This mother has a little suggestion for those who arrive on vacation: “We want to take their place. Suddenly, if they have too many traffic jams, which they do not hesitate to call. There, there is no problem, we still stay”she jokes.

For household staff, it’s the shot. About twenty employees are busy in bungalows. More than 100 vacationers are expected at the end of the afternoon. “It’s really complicated. There is stress, so it runs everywhere. You have to be very sporty”Recognizes Kamilia Duquenne, general manager of campsite staff. Between arrivals and departures, it is the most busy weekend of the year. 1,500 people will be present on the campsite: “There are a lot of people who arrive. Mobile homes must be ready for 5 pm maximum. We have this time slot from 5 to 6 hours to redo all the mobile homes”explains Quentin Liotard, director of the campsite.

The ritual of all midday resumes: the dance of the village around the swimming pool, to welcome arrivals and make the end of the holidays a little lighter for others.
