The deputy secretary general of the UGTT in charge of studies and documentation, Anouar Ben Kaddour, insisted on the need to place the negotiations with the government in a global approach going beyond the sole question of wages.
Speaking on Saturday, November 1, 2025, during a meeting organized at the headquarters of the Kébili Regional Labor Union, he stressed that the current discussions must also focus on health and safety at work as well as the promotion of decent employment.
Referring to the increase in the payroll provided for by the 2026 finance bill, the union leader affirmed that only real social dialogue will make it possible to overcome the social, political and economic crisis that the country is going through.
Anouar Ben Kaddour also denounced the obstacles facing union action and the role of the UGTT, citing in particular the restrictions weighing on the right to organize and on collective negotiations.
He finally announced the support of the trade union center for the strike in the banking sector and financial institutions, scheduled for November 3 and 4.
