The French manufacturer Aura Aero is betting on the electric aircraft

To take off with this prototype, the pilot no longer puts the gases, but pushes the volts. The very first electrical plane approved in the world is French. “It is better balanced because all the weight of the batteries is concentrated around the center of gravity”explains Hervé Poulin, test pilot of aura aero. “It is more pleasant to drive and more responsive”he underlines. This plane is also less noisy.

An hour of flight is the maximum autonomy of this device, intended for the formation of line pilots or the army, from the end of 2026. According to its designer, the electric has only advantages. “We decrease the cost of the flight time and obviously the carbon footprint”says Jérémy Caussade, CEO founder of aura aero. The secret of this plane is its engine, a concentrate of technologies which has undergone more than 1,500 hours of testing before being certified.
