Struck by surcourism, the city of Luang Prabang, in Laos, protected and listed as World Heritage of Humanity, is found in danger. Something to worry local residents.
It is the pearl of Laos which is overwhelmed by tourists. In Luang Prabang, ancient royal capital, every morning, young Buddhists come out their rite. From 5 am, Buddhist monks come out of the temples to meet their food. A tradition widely observed by the inhabitants of the city, but especially by tourists, always there.
This city, preserved because of its registration as World Heritage of Humanity, has no buildings of more than two floors. On the other hand, the temples with rich decorations and old palaces on stilts with Laotian style are there. What, once again, attract visitors.
The preservation of this place is a priority, then when a building needs a new stroke, it is the Buddhist monks who are responsible for restoring them. A refurbishment with original materials. What ensure a certain authenticity, for this in danger heritage.
