A petition with more than a million and a half of signatures: the opposition to the Duplumb law is growing and reacted, starting with the author of the text itself. “When you demonize and scare people, by definition, you can only have this result”said Laurent Dupumb. The senator of the Republicans can count on the support of the vice-president of his party. On this law would depend on the future of French agriculture.

“The only way to harmonize on a European scale and not to seal French farmers is precisely to authorize, even temporarily, what other European countries accept”said Geoffroy Didier, vice-president of LR. His speech contrasts with that of opponents of the DUPLOM law. “Of course France must advance on its own in its corner. It is not because other countries make mistakes that we have to make the same, on the contrary”estimates the environmental member Sandrine Rousseau.

Two visions compete, sometimes in excess. According to the Ministry of the Interior, nine attacks on parliamentarians have been identified. Most of the facts are degradations and gatherings in front of permanence or outrages on social networks. Contacted by Franceinfo, the entourage of Gérald Darmanin reacted Monday July 21: “The Keeper of the Seals will ask to systematize criminal proceedings and set up individual support when parliamentarians are threatened, regardless of their vote”.

A tense and unprecedented situation. The CAP of 500,000 signatures is widely reached, this petition can therefore be the subject of a debate in public session in the National Assembly. It is the wish of the boss of the presidential party. “It obviously shows that there is a discomfort in a part of the French around this question. This is why I think that is very good if this debate can be held”reacted Gabriel Attal, the secretary general of Renaissance.

The decision to examine the text during a debate or to classify the petition will be taken by the Conference of Presidents of the Assembly during the start of the parliamentary school scheduled for early October.
