58% of French people recognize difficulty finding accommodation. Some turn to the Tiny Houses. These mini-butons on wheels, initially designed as ecological alternatives for a nomadic lifestyle, become main sedentary residences.
It has become his little paradise: a mini-house of 18m2. For the past five months, Solenne Boichot has occupied a “small house“. Tied by this minimalist lifestyle, it especially had no other choice. “It’s quite complicated to find accommodation, and I did not enter the right boxes, since I was solo and newly entrepreneur”, she explains. Today she rents this little house for 430 euros per month.
To respond to the housing crisis, town hall of Grand-Champ, near Vannes (Morbihan), transformed his campsite into a district of Tiny Houses. 20 individuals were allowed to install their houses for maximum five years. The locations are reserved for young workers. The town hall has also installed ten new mini-houses for social housing.
A Nantes manufacturer saw the request explode. It builds around thirty Tiny Houses per year. It takes the accommodation between 50,000 and 60,000 euros. Its order book is full, mainly communities. Employers are also interested in the alternative to house some of their employees.
