Thomas Müller and Bayern Munich, it’s soon finished! At 35, the German striker will leave this summer the club where he has been playing since the summer of 2000. The 2014 world champion will close a chapter of 25 seasons and (to date) 743 matches, for a total of 33 trophies which should also climb. Thomas Müller, who hopes to win a 13th title of German champion and a third Champions League, will go after the Club World Cup.

Bayern adds that Thomas Müller’s departure is a common choice of both parties. “This decision was obviously not easy to make,” explains sports director Max Eberl. The key factor was finally planning of the workforce, which allowed us to focus on the future. The discussions we led with Thomas were opened and transparent on both sides. Thomas knows that he is held in high esteem at FC Bayern, and this decision does not change anything. We now want to win more trophies with him.
