The day after Morocco’s victory over the Comoros in the curtain-raiser of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (2-0), the other initial poster for Group A produced an unexpected result this Monday.
Favorites to finish second in the group behind the Atlas Lions, the Mali Eagles were held in check by the Zambia Eagles (1-1).
If the Malians opened the scoring through Sinayoko shortly after the hour mark (62nd), the Zambians, then largely dominated, finished better to equalize thanks to Daka in added time (90th+3).
So here is Morocco alone in control of its pool. Four days before the clash which will pit the host country of this CAN against Mali.
