From Saturday July 5, merchants can stick a sticker on their windows to indicate that children are welcome. The initiative, launched by the government to combat the “no kid” trend, “No doubt corresponds to a need”Esimes Catherine Quérard, President of the Hotels and Restorations Group of France (GHR), with France Inter on Saturday.
“If this label is created, it is because it undoubtedly corresponds to a need for identification”, Specifies Catherine Quérard to France Inter. “If this label can make it possible to better welcome families, no problem, quite the contrary”. “But it must always be in the positive mind and not in that of criticism. Those who will display the label will assume it”she adds. “Those who will not display it, that does not mean that they will refuse children, that means that for them, it may not correspond to their customers.”
Red in color, the thumbnail offered by the government will carry the inscription “The choice of families 2025” with, in the center, the logo of a stroller. This label can take into account several criteria, ranging from the reception of children without additional cost, to benevolent staff, including suitable arrangements (games, toilets, …), specifies the High Commission for Childhood.
The government gathered at the end of May several federations in the tourism and transport sector to combat the “no kid” trend (“childless”) which develops in certain foreign countries and seems to gain ground in France. This trend is to exclude minors from certain hotels and restaurants, certain trips and other leisure activities.
