“There is money: in the pockets of the ultra-rich and the employers!” This is one of the slogans of the strike day on Tuesday December 2 launched by the CGT, FSU and Solidaires. These unions, which stand in particular against the 2026 budget, are demanding funds “for our public services, for our jobs, for our pensions, for another budget, for our salaries, for justice, for our industries, for culture”according to a CGT leaflet planned for this day of action. Franceinfo summarizes the main actions expected, according to the sectors.

In transport

The CGT Cheminots has called a strike for Tuesday, but the disruptions for SNCF users will not be detailed until Monday from 5 p.m.

In Ile-de-France, on the RATP side, a strike notice was filed from Monday 6 p.m. until Wednesday 7 a.m. “Significant traffic disruptions are possible on the Ile-de-France network: metros, RER and buses may see their frequencies reduced, certain lines partially or completely interrupted, and interconnections suspended”warned the unions. But the mobilization will have no impact, according to RATP management, which anticipates normal traffic on its network, reports HERE.

At the airports, two minority unions among Air France pilots plan to protest on Tuesday and Wednesday against job cuts: flight changes are expected.

In schools, colleges and high schools

Class closures are planned in primary and secondary schools. Denouncing “the elimination of 4,000 positions” in the 2026 budget, the FSU-SNUippfirst primary school teachers’ union, believes that “There is no shortage of reasons to go on strike in our professions”enumerating “wage freeze, deterioration of working conditions, working hours, professional burnout, hierarchical injunctions, pension reform” or even “insufficient means”.

THE Snes-FSUmain secondary education union federation, “demands the cancellation of job cuts”. “We urgently need to reopen the issue of remuneration and careers”he adds, drawing attention to “the situation of non-holders” and supporters of students with disabilities (AESH) who remain without status.

In administrations

The unions denounce in the 2026 budget the “cutting 3,000 positions in the civil service and in particular in National Education, at France Travail, in Public Finance, in Social Security organizations”.

THE CGT Federation of Public Services has also filed a strike notice for Tuesday “from midnight to 24 hours covering all local civil service agents”. She calls on her unions to “organize and participate in local and national actions wherever they are organized”.

In hospitals

The services of certain hospitals could be affected after notices filed concerning the state civil service and the territorial civil service.

“The budgets of health establishments are insufficient to carry out their public service missions, salary increases do not even cover inflation and certain professions are paid below the minimum wage”writes the CGT Health social action. It is for these reasons that she demands a “general increase in wages” of 10% or an increase in differential compensation to compensate for remuneration below the minimum wage.
