Wednesday, October 1, a bank already protected its window with metal panels that served during previous mobilizations. Precautions before the next day’s demonstration in Paris. A coffee maker, whose establishment is located on the passage of the procession, is fatalistic. “Turnover is as every time there is a strike, it’s half less”he launches.
To secure the procession, nearly 5,000 police are expected to be deployed. “There will probably be individuals who will try to degenerate the demonstration. We would immediately unlock any attempt at blocking, whether they are high schools, bus deposits, other establishments. We will intervene immediately”Declares Laurent Nunez, Paris police prefect on TF1.
Transport will be rather fluid. In the capital, metros and buses will circulate as usual. TGV traffic should be normal, with only a few disturbances on TER, RER and intercités.
The movement promises to be less followed than on September 18 and divides the French met on Wednesday, October 1. “I adhere. It turns out that I managed to participate in the demonstrations the last two days and I will go back”Ensures a woman. “I find it a bit of a shame, let’s wait until you still have a new government”Indicates another.
On the air transport side, delays are to be expected with limited impacts. Fewer strikers are also expected within national education, especially in colleges and high schools. A strike notice has also been filed in hospitals. Provide postponements from your appointments if they are not urgent.
