While a girl died after food poisoning, two butchers were closed preventively in Saint-Quentin, in Aisne, Thursday, June 19.
In Saint-Quentin (Aisne), a butcher’s shop closed on Thursday, June 19, by prefectural decision, as a precaution after the death of an intoxicated little girl. The analyzes are underway, but five of the eight contaminated children have consumed meat bought in this store. “As a precaution, I think we will throw what we had kept in the freezer”, Affirm a client of this butcher’s shop, mother of four children.
Another butcher’s shop is targeted by an administrative closure. Only one of the eight families affected by poisoning had done their shopping there. A bundle of presumptions points the meat, especially the merguez and the pieces of lamb. Investigations continue with wholesalers and other customers. For the town hall, these first decisions bring relief. “It may also allow answers to families”, Esimes Frédérique Macaraz, mayor (LR) of Saint-Quentin.
