10 years ago, Philippe Latapie had a heat pump installed in his home. Objective: to save energy. He explains:“Before, I was around 80, 100, sometimes even 150 euros per month. And now, I’m down to around 55, 60, maximum 80 euros”
These bills have fallen, but that is not enough. For the first time, he applied for the energy check. He hopes to receive help to reduce his bills: “The money I would have saved will allow me to go out a little more. It’s true that it’s rare that I go to a restaurant or do activities like going to a leisure park, etc.” adds Philippe.
Staggered according to the departments, the distribution of the energy check begins today and will last throughout the month of November. The amount varies between 48 and 277 euros depending on your tax income. Automatically sent to 3.8 million households, many are unaware that they could benefit from it. Last year, almost a million of them did not claim it.
Maxime de la Raudière, general manager of Selectra, specifies:“There are a certain number of households which go under the radar of the energy check because the tax administration does not have the information which allows the automatic sending of the energy check. In these cases, you have to connect to the energy check website and do a simulation to see if you are eligible”.
Usually sent in the spring, this year the sending of the energy check was delayed by the late adoption of the 2025 state budget.
