Farmers continue to mobilize on Sunday December 21 against the government’s strategy to fight against lumpy skin disease (LCD). According to the Ministry of the Interior, 50 actions took place across France on Saturday and 1,619 people were mobilized. However, several blockages have been lifted.
One of the main points of action on Sunday remains the A64 motorway between Bayonne and Toulouse, where farmers from the Rural Coordination and the Peasant Confederation have been blocking traffic for a week to denounce the systematic slaughter of cattle herds in the event of lumpy skin disease. They are particularly mobilized in Carbonne (Haute-Garonne) and Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées), according to data from Bison Futé.
South of Bordeaux, farmers remain mobilized on the A63, near Cestas (Gironde). Around fifty people have been there for a week and say they are ready to stay until Christmas, reports HERE Gironde. An access ramp to the motorway was opened on Saturday in the Bordeaux-Bayonne direction and allows the blockage to be bypassed. A meeting is planned for Sunday between farmers and the prefecture.
Still in the southwest, in Ariège, the dam of the Peasant Confederation and Rural Coordination at Tarascon-sur-Ariège continues on the RN20 to access Andorra, according to Bison Fûté.
