After having destroyed Valence Romans (64-10) at La Rabine on Friday evening during the 9th day of Pro D2, Vannes, which remains on six home victories, takes off at the top of the ranking, now four points ahead of Colomiers, who clearly won in Béziers (43-22). Agen, executioner of the last Dax (31-0), returns to the podium.
Vannes flies to the top of the ranking. The Breton leader offered himself the biggest victory of his season (64-10), this Friday evening during the 9th day of Pro D2 by destroying on his lawn at the La Rabine stadium Valence Romans, the 3rd in the ranking before this day, who nevertheless remained on three successes and had corrected Agen during the last day. The Vannes residents, more than ever alone in first place, are now four steps ahead of a Colomiers team beaten last weekend at home by… Vannes.
The Columérins, however, resumed their march forward on Friday by offering themselves a seventh victory this season thanks to their very clear success on the lawn of Béziers (43-22) which even allowed them to regain control for a few minutes (Editor’s note: The Colomiers match had been scheduled a little before that of Vannes). On the podium, in 3rd place, we no longer find Valence Romans but Agen.
Nevers drowned among the penultimate
Swept precisely last week on the Drômois field, the SUA, still impressive in Armandie, reacted superbly by leaving no chance – nor the slightest point – in front of its public (31-0) at the last Dax, beaten there for the seventh time since the start of the season while it had regained its smile for a while by crushing the Biterrois on the last day.
Like Valence Romans, Nevers took on water on Friday. USON, now 5th, did not exist in Mont-de-Marsan, where the penultimate in the ranking which had only won two matches before Friday, enjoyed an unexpected walk in the park (71-10) against the Nivernais.
Nevers is now ahead of Aurillac, which returned to success by winning with difficulty at home against Oyonnax (22-20). After three defeats, lower in the ranking, Carcassonne was very close to raising its head against Biarritz, who finally snatched the draw in the very last moments (23-23) and thus avoided relapsing after two victories in a row.
