The amount of energy bills will change. VAT on gas and electricity subscriptions increases from 5.5 % to 20 %. Consumers anticipate a price increase. For electricity, not all households will be affected in the same way. Small consumers should see their bills increase by 12 euros for 500 kWh per year. But the biggest consumers, beyond 3,000 kWh, should pay less, because the prices of electricity, in return, have dropped and could compensate for the increase in the subscription. “A year, I am at 5,294 kWh. But as the price per kilowatt hour, it is dropping, it compensates. But afterwards, which tells me that in 5-6 months, it will not increase”nuance Vincent Lillo, photographer.
For gas, on the other hand, all users, without exception, should see their invoices increase, according to Maxime Detony, financial director of Hello Watt. “There is no cost drop in the network, which even increased on July 1. Overall, all consumers will see their gas bill increase”he assures. This increase in VAT on the subscription will be effective on August 1.
