“We must not talk about controversy, it’s an offense”reacts Sunday, November 2 on franceinfo Martine Brousse, the president of La Voix de l’enfant, the day after the report, by the fraud repression, of the marketing of sex dolls of a child pornography nature on the Shein site. “It’s an attack on children, and that’s what’s very serious”she adds.
The General Directorate for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) made a report on Friday October 31 to the French justice system and the Chinese group claims to have “immediately” removed the incriminated dolls from sale. Despite this rapid measure from Shein, Martine Brousse is indignant: “what have they put in place to control ?”. The president of the association asks the e-commerce giant to go “until the end” and to say “how many dolls like these were made, how many were sold, especially in France” and let them go until “the destruction of the stock”.
La Voix de l’enfant contacted its lawyer and Arcom for a possible filing of a complaint. Martine Brousse recalls that the association had already filed a complaint against Amazon in 2020 for the sale of similar products. In this folder “justice did not follow” in France, she said, yet “there are legal texts, and although we apply them !”
For Martine Brousse, there is “a risk of taking action” pedophile for “buyers” of these sex dolls in the image of children, which are “predators”according to her. The president of La Voix de l’enfant says she spoke with the High Commissioner for Children, Sarah El Haïri, who “takes up the subject” “from tomorrow” so that Shein “is subject to prosecution”.
