Like a few days ago in the NBA Cup, the San Antonio Spurs once again beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, while Cooper Flagg was very valuable for the Dallas Mavericks against the Denver Nuggets.
Clearly, the Thunder still have a hard time against the Spurs. Indeed, a few days after their victory in the NBA Cup semi-final, San Antonio did it again and once again dominated the defending champion (130-110). If Oklahoma City initially started the match better (60-58 in their favor at the break) and could count on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again very valuable (33 points and 8 rebounds), the Texans made a strong impression behind.
Because if Victor Wembanyama (12 points and 5 rebounds in 23 minutes of play) was quite discreet, the Spurs were able to count on Keldon Johnson (25 points), Stephon Castle (24 points) and Harrison Barnes (20 points) to make the difference against the Thunder. A 72-50 in the second half then allowed the residents of the Frost Bank Center to achieve a great success at the finish. Before Christmas, “Wemby” and his teammates were able to celebrate with their supporters.
Flagg came close to a triple-double against Denver
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the expected duel between Dallas and Denver turned in favor of the Mavericks (131-130). At home, the Texans were able to count on another very good game from Cooper Flagg close to achieving a triple-double (33 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists), who was well supported by Anthony Davis (31 points and 9 rebounds). Opposite, if Nikola Jokic (29 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists) and Jamal Murray (31 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists) were a little too alone to hope to stay up to the Spurs in 2nd place in the Western Conference.
