At one time, the Vans had become symbols of freedom, taken in particular by surfers. Today, for lack of means, some followers are satisfied with smaller vehicles. A workshop, which produces kits to transform your car, is crumbling under requests.
After their working day, Stéphanie and Cédric Jolivet are on the way to an improvised dinner with their vehicle fitted out in van. “The advantage is that it is our everyday car. And tonight, it is transformed into a small rolling and hotel kitchen”explains Cédric. Arrived in a neighboring vineyard, a table appears in the blink of an eye. Removable wooden blocks transform the car at will. The whole cost 3,500 euros.
There is inside a bed and all the accessories to camp. This lifestyle is more and more followers, with kits accessible from 900 euros. They are made with local wood in a workshop near Angers (Maine-et-Loire), for 140 models of different vehicles. At the moment, orders are very numerous for the fifteen employees. The market was multiplied by two in a year.
