Real Madrid have just made a major decision for their coach Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid’s start to the season under Xabi Alonso is struggling to convince. Despite the victory in the Clasico in October (2-1), the team often disappointed, relying almost exclusively on Kylian Mbappé, author of 29 goals in 24 matches in all competitions, and stringing together irregular results, both in La Liga (four games without a win between November and December) and in the Champions League, where the club fell against Liverpool and Manchester City.
Off the pitch, the club also experienced tensions, notably between Vinicius Junior and Xabi Alonso, which have now been resolved. But tactical problems persist, and several players, including Dani Ceballos, Rodrygo, Brahim Díaz, Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde, appear dissatisfied with their roles in the locker room.
No transfer this winter
Unhappy with his playing time, Endrick found a way out by joining OL in the form of a loan. This departure should remain the only one for Real Madrid this winter, the Spanish club having opted for stability during this transfer window. According to Cadena Copethe loan of the young 19-year-old Brazilian will be the only movement in January, barring an unforeseen setback or major injury.
Madrid management has chosen stability and intends to continue the season with the current squad. A decision which goes against the wishes of Xabi Alonso, who would have liked reinforcement, particularly in defensive midfield. As last summer, management believes it has sufficient internal resources to build a competitive midfield, and has therefore refused any arrival.
